RESOURCES  and Helpful Tips

Some Helpful Farm Product Tips . . . .

  • Can I feed honey to a child?  Never feed honey to a child under 1-year old!

  • When should I clean fresh produce?  Always thoroughly wash all fresh produce before consuming them (not before you place them in the refrigerator)!!

  • Do you sometimes wonder if an Egg is fresh and safe to eat?  Place the egg in a cup of water. If it sinks to the bottom, it is fresh and safe to eat; if it is buoyant or floats, discard the egg.

  • Has your Honey crystallized or separated?  Simply heat (but never boil) the Honey by placing the jar in a water bath on the stove (no microwave please) and stir until liquified at 115-deg-F. Remember to never add water to Honey (water spoils honey).

  • What can I use Beeswax for? Un-stick a drawer, lubricate screws, wax wood, preserve bronze, "whip" frayed rope, condition a wood cutting board, polish concrete counters, preserve copper patina and weatherproof leather.
