Both Kerry and Bob were honored with the NC Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in Franklin County at the recent Annual Farm-City Day Breakfast Celebration held at the Cooperative Extension Center in Louisburg, NC on November 13th, 2008.

Extension Director Cedric Jones presented the awards and recognition pins from Gov. Mike Easley, thereby joining a group of 15,800 volunteers in North Carolina who have received this honor since 1979.

Bob and Kerry have been supportive of many Extension Center initiatives including: 4-H, Annual Farm Foods and Crafts Festival, Agricultural Advisory Board, Master Gardener, Franklin County Farm Fresh website and Ben Franklin Society.

Bob spoke briefly to encourage others to volunteer and help secure a bright future for Franklin County.
