DSCN3773The Franklin County Farm Tour is an annual event hosted by North Carolina Cooperative Extension, the Franklin County/NC Arts Council, Whole Foods Markets, HomegrownHandmade.com and the Ridgeway Opry House.

The goal of the the Tour is “to promote a sustainable way of life in Franklin County, support buying local products, support the local art community, and promote ‘green space’ and environmental stewardship”.

Lynch Creek Farm participated for the third year, as one of nine farm stops in Franklin County, NC open to the public on Saturday May 20th and Sunday May 21st, 2006 from  1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Other farms represented included: Shiloh Farm and Retreat, Melvin’s Gardens, Mae Farm, Freedom Farms, NC Meat Goat Producers, Jeffrey’s Strawberry Patch, Rare Bird Nursery, Harris Farm, Meadow Lane Farm and the Franklin County Natural Beef Alliance.

Over 350 attendees donated $5 (children under 12 are free) to tour the farms again this year. Most attendees were from outside Franklin County. It has evolved into a “family” event with something for everyone to learn and enjoy.
